Description:

"Govinda" is acrylic on canvas, created as a humble tribute to Lord Venkateshwara (Balaji) of Tirumala.
Inspired by my visits to the temple, this work draws from the deeply spiritual experiences within the sanctum, where the sight of the Lord’s face adorned with the sacred Naamam evokes a trance-like stillness and a profound sense of divine presence.
The darker tones of black and blue in the painting reflect the mystique and depth of the divine, while the brighter shades of yellow, white, and gold radiate the warmth and grace of the Lord’s blessings. At the heart of the piece is the figure of a priest performing arti, clad in a traditional dhoti—an homage to the devotion of countless pilgrims and the collective spirit of worship.
Through "Govinda," I aim to capture the sacred bond between the devotee and the divine, and to reflect the transformative journey of faith and spiritual connection.
